At the down end of Lal Lal was a short branch line headed north-east to Lal Lal Falls and the nearby racecourse. Opened in 1886 the last race meeting was held in 1938 and the line was dismantled soon after

Lal Lal station remains today in private ownership. The crossing loop also remains but is clipped out of use
