Terang Station

Station
Line: Geelong
Distance from Melbourne: 220.785km
Track Diagram: View
Opened: Saturday, 23 April 1887

Terang was once the junction of the line north to Mortlake. The junction was at the down end of the yard and faced Melbourne.

The 1929 track chart of the line showed the platform on the southern (down) side of the line, opposite a four road yard and goods platform. A dock platform facing Mortlake and Warrnambool was located behind the main platform. The yard had a number of dead end extensions, as well as a 50 foot turntable.

Today the yard has been heavily rationalised, with just the original brick station building, and a single dead end siding facing Geelong.
