Opened: April 17, 2014
At the 2010 state election the Liberal National Coalition promised to spend $10 million to build a new crossing loop between Marshall and Warrnambool, as well as restoring the removed crossing loop at Colac. In February 2013 it was announced that the new 1,200 metre long loop would be built at Warncoort.
Warncoort Loop has signals remotely controlled from Centrol in Melbourne, with each road being 650 metres long between home signals, but due to additional length being provided between the signals and the fouling point, two 950 metre long trains can cross in the loop.
