Newport South
Newport South was the junction of the Geelong line and the Williamstown Racecourse line, which was later extended to become the Altona line. It was also known as 'Newport B' box or Newport South Junction.
The signal box also controlled the adjacent Champion Road level crossing gates. Newport South ceased to be a junction when the line was duplicated through to Laverton, with the Altona line junction being relocated further down the line.
The signal box closed when the Champion Road gates were replaced with boom barriers in 1977. Control of points and signals was transferred to Newport.
