In 1922 the box was replaced, with a new 53 lever frame being provided, and more sidings being provided in the area. 1959 saw the alteration of the Loop line Junction, and more alterations were carried out to the box.

The next change was in 2001 when remote control of Corio / North Shore was provided, with the relocation of the Westinghouse Westcad terminal from Corio Station.

In June 2005 the Regional Fast Rail project saw the rationalisation of North Geelong A, with control of the main line being transferred to the Geelong Signal Control Centre, the only local control remaining being the exit from North Geelong yard. This was also transferred to a new remote controlled interlocking in August 2006, and the box was decommissioned.
