Proposed intermodal terminal located between Lara and Little River, situated between Old Melbourne Road and the Geelong-Melbourne railway. Developed by private company Buildev, they are calling it "Centra Park Geelong".
This equipment on the standard gauge line is used to measure the load on the rails by wagons, and alert the train crew if something is wrong. Initially a Teknis Wheel Condition Monitoring system was installed, with a trial Wheel Impact Load Detector (WILD) being added by the Institute of Railway Technology, Monash University. The WILD has since been removed, replaced by a VIPAC RailBAM Acoustic Bearing Monitor.
