Located to the west of the Waurn Ponds cement works, Anglesea Road currently crosses the railway via a three span bridge, with the road connecting into the Geelong Ring Road at a full diamond interchange that features two roundabouts.
Originally Anglesea Road crossed the railway via a level crossing. In 2011 VicRoads commenced deviating the road away from the quarry as part of the preparation works for Stage 4A of the Geelong Ring Road. This work involved the construction on a new level crossing to the east of the existing one, along with new approach roads, in order to clear the current Anglesea Road alignment for the new freeway and grade separation of the rail crossing.
The temporary level crossing opened to traffic on April 19, which allowed the existing alignment to be cleared. Work on the approach embankments was well underway by October, with all three spans in place across the railway line by December 2011. By December 2012 the new road bridge over the railway was opened, and the temporary level crossing removed.
