The junction for a 13 kilometre long broad gauge tramway to the Great Western Colliery at Benwerrin. The tramway was worked by a second hand 2-4-0WT N class steam locomotive.
A single set of points in the mainline lead to a loop siding, and short dead-end safety spur at the mainline end. Empty trucks would be slip shunted into the siding by the Forrest train and taken to the mine by the company locomotive, and loaded trucks left in the siding for the return working.
The operation closed in November 1903 and went into liquidation, with 6300 tonnes of coal produced in the short time that it operated. The Victorian Railways seized the company's assets to settle debts, the rails being lifted in June 1905. The mine later reopened but road transport was used direct to Deans Marsh.
