A bluestone road underbridge, the roadway is only a single lane wide, and the height underneath is only 2.6 metres. Laverton Creek also runs underneath the road, making flooding a frequent occurrence. A second parallel bridge was built to the north in 1994/95 as part of the new standard gauge line.
In 2007/08 the road approaches were rebuilt as concrete, replacing the rough ford that was there before. In 2009 a third parallel bridge was built to the south, as part of the works that provided Laverton with a third platform and an third track towards Westona. This new concrete bridge has a single span.
