North Geelong B opened as 'West Geelong' in 1879 with a 21 lever frame. In 1886 it was replaced with a 30 lever frame. 1907 saw the signal box removed and relocated to a signal bay in the station building with a 33 lever frame due to the junction being rearranged.
It was not until 1921 that a separate signal box was restored, this time with a 50 lever frame. This arrangement remained until 2005 when the signal box and mechanical interlocking was decommissioned, and a new Computer Based Interlocking provided, controlled from the Geelong Signal Control Centre.
